team effectiveness

Team Development

‘We try to achieve something, but it doesn’t work out’ or ‘something keeps happening that we don’t want’. Or “We make a team plan over and over again with great energy, but we never implement it.’ Are these recognizable statements for you? That has everything to do with team effectiveness. Agreements are not followed through, people talk “about each other” but not “with each other,” and many things are left unsaid. A majority of teams within organizations do not function effectively enough.

By explicitly working on team effectiveness, quick results can be achieved. Humancollective has extensive experience in this area and its approach ensures that a team also remains effective and does not fall back into the “old” situation.

The background of effective teams.

Our experience shows that in effectively functioning teams, members understand and (learn to) value each other’s perspective. There is a shared understanding of individual and team qualities and potential pitfalls. Should irritations and misunderstandings arise, everyone knows where they come from and what is an effective way to deal with them. In other words, there is more effective communication and collaboration than in less effective teams.

Our approach

Every team is different. This is why our approach differs from team to team, where we create the most effective program based on an intake. Possible building blocks in this regard are:

  • Interactive Team game (at >8p) as a challenge and mirror about current ways of working together
  • What makes a good team? (criteria for a good team and self-assessment)
  • Lencioni scan (team analysis)
  • Line Dance; team qualities and pitfalls in view, exploring each other’s perspectives
  • Core quadrants; individual and interaction. Breaking ineffective patterns between team members
  • Feedback carousel
  • Communication exercise
  • Commitments to the team
  • One page team plan
If you find that a team is not functioning effectively, do not continue as before and do something about it. Contact:
